Chattanooga Pediatric Well Exam and Yearly Pediatric Physical
Maintaining good health into adulthood starts with regularly scheduled wellness exams. Our child wellness exam allows us to monitor your child's growth and development as they get older. During this exam, we take height and weight measurements. Depending on your child's age, we may also conduct hearing and vision tests.
We use this information to determine the overall health of your child. We encourage you to ask questions during these visits. We can provide information about nutrition, child care safety, immunization information and much more.
By performing a routine kids wellness exam, we can monitor, inform and educate you about your child's health. Chattanooga kids wellness exams should continue regularly until about three years of age.
After age three, we will schedule fewer wellness exams and schedule a yearly childs physical exam instead. Similar to a children well exam, yearly physicals include height and weight measurements, hearing and vision testing and immunizations.
Valley Pediatrics provides wellness visits and annual physicals to children through age 18. These visits help ensure that your child remains healthy and active. Wellness visits also allow us to detect, treat and manage any health conditions, diseases and illnesses as your child develops.
What Ages are Well Child Check Ups?
Wellness visits typically start within 3 to 5 days after your child's birth and continue monthly until your child reaches three months old. We will schedule bi-monthly or quarterly check-ups until the age of two. We will schedule a wellness exam every six months until age three, and then yearly exams.
Does My Child Need a Well Visit Every Year?
Yes! Your child needs a wellness visit every year so we can monitor their physical, mental and emotional development. During the exam, we take height and weight measurements, conduct hearing and vision testing and discuss any concerns you have about your child's development.
